August 27, 2026Rate Study Cost Report Deadline Extended to September 30; Last Office Hour September 9
On August 21, 2026, the Maryland Department of Health extended the submission deadline for the Behavioral Health Rate Study cost survey from August 28 to September 30, 2026. The survey applies to every Outpatient Mental Health Clinic, Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program, and SUD Level 2 (IOP and PHP) provider in the state.
Myers and Stauffer, the state's rate-setting contractor, will hold one more office hour on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. The provider FAQ had previously said no extensions beyond the original date would be considered; treat September 30 as firm.
What to do
- File the cost survey by September 30. One survey per Medicaid provider number, with every site listed on it.
- If you never confirmed your contact person, email MDBHACostSurvey@mslc.com with the contact's name and information, your provider name, and your Medicaid provider number.
- Bring your cost-allocation questions to the September 9 office hour.
- Download the current survey, instructions, and FAQ (updated August 24) from the Myers and Stauffer Maryland BHA resource page.
